Immi has been very very grouchy past 3 days. She hasn’t been able to sleep much either. All of us gave up trying to sleep and got up around 6 am this morning and found that Immi has been growing 4 teeth all at once!! Her upper left incisor poked through about a week ago, and we thought that she was just working on her right incisor. Then I looked in her mouth and found that both of her upper lateral incisors are coming out as well! (Which means she’ll have total of 6 teeth very soon!) It looks painful. She gets very cross with me when I try to wipe her mouth after meals, now I know why.

Immi hates cottage cheese. She won’t eat it even if its mixed with veggies or fruits. I tried sneaking tiny tiny bit in rice cereal and she ate it but very very suspiciously…

Immi has been having fever (103˚F-ish) since Sunday afternoon. Her pediatrician said that many kids are having similar problems now but not to worry. She seems better now, hasn’t needed tylenol today.

Immi cried for about 30 minutes when we dropped off her obaachan at the airport. It was very sad.

Immi is having peas, corn and blueberries with her dad who had just gotten a plate of turkey, mashed potato and green beans. The special highchair she is sitting on at her grandmom’s is engraved “Immi” (you can make out bit of it) because, you know, it is immi’s.

Immi got 1–2 more tooth/teeth. The upper left incisor is poking through. The one on the right seems to be coming out too. We thought she might be teething again since she had been a bit grumbly and drooly the past two days.

We are dining at Cheng’s (Chinese restaurant in Sterling). Immi is sitting at the table and happily munching on her freeze dry peas and apples.

[immi news] Immi got bit by Mr. Seagal today. It’s not really his fault, he is a very gentle cat and has never bitten anyone. He was sitting on Todd’s lap when Immi wanted to pet him and grabbed his face (she has very strong hands!). Immi was very upset for couple minnute but she is fine. Mr. Seagal looked very regretful and sad.

Immi, her obaachan (that’s grandmom in japanese!) and I are at Tysons Corner Mall. Immi is having fun people watching on the bench near Nordstrom.

9 month chek-up

Immi is now 9 month and 3 days old! She went to see her pediatrician for check-up.

We found out that she is:

Height: 27 3/4 inches
Weight: 14.3 lb
Head: oohps. i can’t remember, but it’s BIG.

…and we were told that she is doing fantastically (crawling, eating, standing/cruising with help, picking things up with fingers, passing objects between hands). When the pediatrician asked us “Has she started saying ‘dadada’ or ‘mamama’?”, immi demonstrated enthusiastically “mamamamamamamamama!!!!”

Everything is great, except that she is a bit skinny accoding to the graph. So we have to go back next month for another check-up. (i think that immi has been burning all the calories being a little ninja-in-training and thinking and talking all day)

She also got flu vaccine and anemia test (jab in her tiny ring finger to drain blood into little plastic thingie). Immi didn’t like these things at all.

…oh, and todd finally got rid of his kidney stone (30 minutes before immi’s appointment!).

We droved down to Charlottesville yesterday because Noctilucence (animation & music by Todd and I) was being shown at University of Virginia’s Technosonics VIII. We went to Mas for tapas with Jordan for dinner. Wendy met us there and then we walked to her place and hung out for a bit.

Then, at the concert, immi met many of my c’ville friends. She was very tired by the end of the day and we went back to the Red Roof Inn conveniently located on the edge of the campus. Immi curled up in her travel crib and fell a sleep.

Today, we went to Bodo’s, our favorite bagle shop. Then the Starbucks next door for a morning cup of coffee.

And then we went to the historic downtown area to meet up with my friends again at the Tea Bazzar (a lovely teahouse!). Immi met another baby for the very first time!

Immi sat with us at the table on her own pillow (…after some of our friends left and there was room) in the tatami area and occasionally held up the cap of her bottle (looks approximately like the tea cups we were using!) to her mouth and pretended to drink out of it!

We visited Jordan at his new and very nice apartment, and then we drove back home.

…and that was immi’s first c’ville visit.

mbupp mbupp mbupp

Immi and I spent most of today saying “mbupp mbupp mbupp mbupp mbupp” to each other, she would repeat back to me even if I had initiated it. I’m not sure why we found this quite so entertaining! Immi also meowed (it wasn’t exactly “Meow”, but more like a real cat) this morning at Mr. Seagal and Miss Montroe who were meowing near her crib.

We just got back from weekly grocery shopping. The guy at the register gave immi a red balloon (we trimmed the string short for safety)! This is despite that he had to scan a really soggy vaccum pack of crumpets which immi likes to play with while we shop.

…she had pulled off one of her bunny bootie as usual.

We are at a halloween party that had been postponed from last week. Immi was a kitten but I put away her ears because she kept taking them off and chewing on them. After entire night of being a tiny social butterfly, she fell asleep while dancing with her dad.
