I caught immi being bad …sticking stickers on a wall!!

Archive for April, 2009
We are having late-ish night tea. Immi is helping her dad pickout a blooming tea.

None of our usual grocery stores are open this late (it’s past 11:00pm!) so here we are at Harris Teeter’s. Immi got herself a balloon for putting up with going shopping so late.

It’s a really nice day out and here we are with our friends at Greenleaf Park. Immi is determined to play on every play-structure they have here even though it’s a bit hot in the sun (Aurie and I are chatting away while immi plays!)

Kevin, Wendy and Immi. Immi has been dragging around her rabbit, kitty, a sheet of stickers, and a princess wand which Jamie, Peter, and Ian got for her (thank you! She adores it, obviously!).

Here’s Immi and Carey playing in the sun.

We are hanging out in the shade having yummy treats.

Thank you so much all of you guys for celebrating our baby No.2 and making us feel so very special and blessed to have such wonderful friends. …and also for the cutest baby boy clothes and toys. And Aurie, for the coolest Hello Kitty p-leather pillow for immi:)
…not in the photo is Ian who is Peter & Jaimee’s 2 year old boy (we didn’t seem to have taken many pictures at all…too busy catching up!). It’s been more than a year since Immi and Ian has seen each other. Their birthdays are 5 weeks apart and I’ve been enjoying watching him grow remotely through Jaimee’s blog, and it was so good to see him in person!
We are in Cville this weekend because my lovely friends are having baby shower for us for the baby No.2. We got in late last night and crashing Jordan’s place. We are having breakfast now at Bodo’s Bagel, our favorite bagel place! Immi is busy decorating her pink cat.

Immi and decorated kitty.

We got the electricity working! We are having new circuit added next week to keep microwave separate from the other stuff, but everything else works:) Here’s what immi’s been up to in the past days:

Immi is serving a cheese plate (I’m assuming that’s what it is, she really enjoyed it at her grandmom’s on Easter).

Immi is playing with sea shells we keep in the little black box. We are totally looking forward to going to the beach in May!

Immi is in there…somewhere.

We are having Mexican brunch. Immi is feeding her dad.

April. 22, 2009
Immi is being a mermaid (and flicking her fin!) on the kitching floor (a dirty kitchen floor…in my sweatshirt I just washed…).

…and what have I been doing without my usual computer and internet? Well, I got to spend a bit more time spinning yarn on a drop spindle (which I got for my birthday!) than I would have otherwise. When I figured out how to spin more or less evenly spun single and 2-ply yarn (…more or less being the key word here, and also very very slowly!), I delved right into novelty techniques (I wanted to see if it can be done on a spindle — simply out of curiosity! — since most instructions for them are for spinning wheel!) and made this:

It has sequins and beads spun into a core-spun thick&thin yarn with bits and pieces of lace sometimes spun around and other times wedged into it. I think that it looks kinda like the way my music sounds. Anyway, it’s only as long as my attention span, which is apparently 3 yards.
Hi! If you’ve wondered why I haven’t updated immi blog in a while its because we are having electrical problem at our place and we don’t have electricity in most of the important part of our living quarters (most of kitchen, the entire studio/office, part of living room, and hallway). I’m borrowing internet now to write this note on my spare laptop that doesn’t have working photo software , e-mail, passwords to anything (lesson learned here, I’ll have to change my sloppy ways of keeping track of passwords!), and my memory card on my camera is completely full but I can’t turn on my computer (its a desktop, I’m not about to move it!) or backup hard-drive.
If you haven’t heard from me (I miss reading your blogs and leaving comments on your facebook!) this is why
I’m so sorry I haven’t replied to any of your messages. I just thought I should let you know that we are all healthy and well and we’ll be back hopefully shortly.
Immi is doing just fine. Her new words are ‘kitchen’ and ‘kitty’ (finally!! she’s been calling it a ‘meow’!). She stole an entire pack of gum (which we are usually careful about hiding!)and ate most of it yesterday (I hope her tummy will be ok).Right at this moment, she is grumpy because I won’t let her have another cookie (it’s big, and she already had one today).
We are decorating eggs at immi’s Grandmom’s.

Immi doodled on the eggs with white crayon and then they all went into the color baths. Two of them got dropped and cracked in the process.

Immi got really mad when there were no more eggs left to dye!

Now she is prettifying the eggs with Hello Kitty stickers.

…and then peeling the stickers off eggs and decorating herself and her monkey instead!

Immi made a big mess in her room!…and still busy playing.

Immi is taking a bath with bubbles and glowsticks!

New recent word immi said are “lipbalm!” and “cocolate” (she meant ‘chocolate’). She started shaking her head vertically for ‘yes’ which is, for some reason, she hadn’t been doing even though she has been shaking her head sideways for ‘no’ for a long long time (like more than a year?).
We had No.2 check-up appointment today. Nothing new to report really. The baby had a very good heart beat. He moves around a lot every day. I gained a lot of weight (6lb!!) in 4 weeks (probably because I don’t move around much due to bad cramping when I do!). I’m not particulary concerned about weight gain though since I have no doubt I’ll loose them quickly chasing after 2 kids once he is born:D
We are having Sunday coffee at Starbucks. Immi is having a cookie, and she is sharing it with her monkey.

Immi is asking me to pop the door back on her toy. This thing keeps coming off because immi wants to make ALL the ponies go through it to get them inside the teapot palace. She also makes them all take the stairs if the toy has one (instead of just levitating) when they want to go to the second level.

Immi wants to take the entire pony village and the tea set somewhere. But when I told her that she has to play with them in her room, she got really mad.

…as it turns out, she wanted them in the bedroom because that’s where the tub of tiny pony accessories are that I usuallty keep out of her reach. So we just brought that into her room and then she was perectly happy with the arrangement.
I’m giving immi a hair cut now. It’s almost done. The way I’ve been doing this lately is to pop up immi on the bathroom counter (she is usually not allowed there!) and let her rammage through whatever she likes and I chop of her hair while she is keeping herself busy pretending to put perfume on or toothpasting her tooth brush etc. I cut her hair quite short hoping that I won’t have to do this for at least a month!

Immi has been saying more words here and there. Some of the new ones are “bird”, “balloon”, “fork”, “spoon” and “juice”. The japanese words she says are “hai” (she uses it to mean both “yes” and also “here it is” when she gives me something.), “yada” and “iya” both meaning “i don’t like/want” and “nai” as is “empty or gone”.
Interesting she has been doing lately is that when she watches a her movies, she immitates her characters’ actions and emotions. She sits like the characters, pretends to look for things, dances, cheeres, waves her arms around etc. One time, I thought she was crying (volume of the TV was nearly off), but she was just pretending/immitating the character crying…
We are almost done with immi’s new room. We still have stuff on the top shelf and above that needs to be sorted out but the room is now functional! I’ve also finally put away all of immi’s baby toys that she doesn’t play with anymore (other than to dump them out of the box/bag and make a mess!) since her little brother won’t be using them for a while, and he certainly won’t need all of them all at once.
Here is the view of the room in the morning BEFORE immi started playing in it:D

And here is the other side of the room with the canopy, chair, and the bed. The bed is actually just a crib mattress that I’ve popped out from the crib. We will have to get her a real-sized bed soon, or at least before the No.2 joins us. But for now, she loves it because it’s all PINK!
