When I told immi that we were going out, she wanted me to brush her hair and put on a hairclip.

Who needs a shirt when you can just wear lots of sparkly things!?

We are driving out to DC to meet Auntie Junko. Immi fell a sleep on the way. She always takes her shoes off in the car.

Immi really wanted the pretty blue and white porcelain tea set (a real one, not a toy) with butterflies on it. She was upset for about 40 seconds when I told her she couldn’t have it (or touch them!, or go anywhere near them!!). I’m glad the tantrum lasted only for a very short time but is it narcissistic that I think she is precious for loving tea and tea sets just like me??
We are moving!! It’s something we’ve been thinking about for long time, but wasn’t sure exactly when or where to. Well, we suddently knew it was that right time, and Porland OR seemed to be the right place so here we go. We just squared away the housing and booked the moving company so the plan has been solidified:) We don’t have much time left here, so it’s going to be packing, packing, and packing for next 10 days!
Moving inevitably makes us sort out stuff stashed away out of reach and out of sight. Here’s immi having much too much fun with SP-808.

I must share with you the photo of boxes and packing paper we were so pleased to have gotten for FREE on craigslist (Used once, and still very good. I’ve always thought buying new boxes just to move once is so eco-unfriendly!)!

We just went to Ashland’s 2 month check up and stopped by for frozen yogurt. Immi is mostly going fot the gummy bear topping, her brother only gets to watch, but he seems to be quite content.

Immi is playing at the play area of the yogurt place.

Immi is being a faery.

She’s been playing telephone with her xylophone…which is strange because it doesn’t look anything like the phones we have (We haven’t had land-line in a long time. And we don’t know anyone who still uses a phone that’s not cordless…). I think that she must have picked this up from watching Doraemon — she even says “Moshi Moshi!” (that’s what you say in Japan when you answer the phone) into the ‘handset’.

Immi is being bad. She is smiling because she KNOWS she isn’t suppose to sit in the baby-swing! I scolded her but she won’t listen. She jumps off the swing every time I enter the room and smiles as if to say that she wasn’t doing anything bad. The funny thing is, one time I went into the room and she tried to jump off quickly, she couldn’t because she had buckled herself in!

We are talking a walk.

Auntie Junko and Immi playing with the ball.

Immi and her daddy.

Immi is wearing HelloKitty ears which she got from her Ojiichan’s colleague in Japan (Hi!! Immi loves wearing it!) and eating some jellybeans.

We are at immi’s grandparents for dinner. We’ve walked to the park nearby.

Auntie Junko is here too.

Immi, Auntie Junko, Ojiichan and Obaachan after dinner.

Immi’s Ojiichan and Obaachan (my parents!) are visiting from Japan this week and brought over a suitcase full of goodies including this fun little wooden animal puzzle.

Immi is swaddling her HelloKitty doll!

Immi is rocking her baby HelloKitty and patting her back.

Immi seems to understand that her little brother is a ‘baby’ and that she no longer is one. She has been helping me take care of him by suggesting to put him on a swing (and switching it on!), and bringing him a pacifier when he is grumpy (he still doesn’t like his binky much, and immi gets really mad when Ashland spits it out immediately).
We are at Amphora’s Bakery for coffee and pastry. Immi is have some chocolate chip cookie.

Immi and her dad having [pretend] tea.

I found a set of alphabet beads and grabbed them thinking that immi could perhaps teach herself alphabets while beading:D She got much faster at it by stringing 2 or 3 at a time!

Immi has been beading the entire day and evening. She got tired and fell a sleep with a bead still in her hand!

Last night Immi had a sleepover at her Grandma’s house. Today she went with her G-Mom and her friend Jill down to the Washington D.C. Mall because there were some labor day festivities and concerts happening. I just got this picture via Jill’s Blackberry email of them having fun riding the Mall carousel:

Immi-chan seems to be getting more independent and developing a lot of preferences for things. It is actually kind of crazy how much personality Immi has developed considering she is only two. On the weekend Immi 2.0 wants to go to the shopping mall, have sleepovers at her grandparents houses, girls night’s out shopping for shoes, go swimming at the pool or have fun glow stick bubble baths.
Immi is beading. She’s been doing this often lately (…and the pink tutu wearing). Today, she is stringing just the pink ones.

I see oskar hanging out with immi a lot these days, he seems to want to sit close to her and watch her play. Immi is reconfiguring glowsticks into necklaces and putting them on oskar — I’m surprised that he doesn’t seem to mind!

It is so very nice out today! …So immi and I are playing outside while Todd keeps an eye on napping Ashland.

Immi hanging out at her favorite spot.

There’s acorns on the ground already! It’s getting to be autumn!
