birth announcements
here are birth announcements todd and then i (a little later) sent to our friends and family.
—- todd’s announcement —-
At 2:01 AM on February 9th 2007 Imogen Pitt was born in delivery room
number five of Fairfax Hospital in Virginia. Imogen weighed six pounds,
fourteen ounces and was twenty and a half inches long.
Everything went very well and Kyoko did absolutely magnificent. We could
not have asked for a better labor, birth (it was text book) or a more
beautiful daughter (and I am not just saying that). She wasn’t wrinkled
or purple or bruised she was just gorgeous and healthy with soft velvety
black hair.
It is so nice to finally meet Immi after all of these months of work and
careful preparations. The first thing she did after being born was grab
the glasses right off my face while I was talking to her and it took a
good arm wrestling to get them back, cause she has a mean Kung Fu grip.
Imogen is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen and I was in love
with her from the moment I looked into her brown eyes.
More soon…
Todd Pitt
—- kyoko’s announcement —-
…it’s probably an old news at this point but I wanted to personally announce birth of my little girl Imogen [BLANK] Pitt born 2:01am on February 9th (she’s Aquarius!)!
Todd and I decided to give her [BLANK] middle name to be filled out by her (and we would legally change it for her) when she knows who she is or what she wants to be.
She has nose and mouth just like mine, and in general looks a lot like me when I was born but some how she resembles todd when in proximity. Her most special feature is tiny beauty mark on the side of her left leg. I think that her feet look just like my sister’s. She was born knowing how to smile and she likes to kick off her left sock (…and only left ones).
We have been back from the hospital since saturday evening, we left a day earlier than the insurance covered since we were both feeling perfectly fine and didn’t enjoy being prodded and poked by various nurses every hour and the bed was really uncomfortable. We have, for most part, adjusted to being home with a new family member and our kitties are completely fine with her too.
My first birthing experience was as perfect as I could have ever hoped for. I even got to go out for sushi after the checkup at the hospital and was announced that I can be admitted to labor/delivery room (I felt perfectly fine and pain-free so I told them that I’ll come back after I eat and take a nap)! The experience itself was beautiful and I felt really quite fine afterwards. I won’t go into detail but Imogen came to us very easily, I think that she wanted very much to be born.
…and happy Valentine’s Day!!
Kyoko
