curious cat
I had the distinct impression during 7th month of pregnancy that immi was very curious about the world outside and wanted to come out and see; I also got the sense that she felt that she was ready to be born already. I had several episodes of very strong and regular contractions then in december. …so I said to her that if she really wanted to born then that it would be ok, but that it would be much nicer for her and we would be prepared more for her if she waited just a bit longer until february. I think that she understood, i didn’t have anymore of those contractions until near her birth time.
I was remembering this today because I was thinking how she really doesn’t like staying tucked away in the baby car seat baby when we go out. When we take her out, she’ll hang out in her carrier for a bit observing her surroundings. But then she’ll want us to take her out of her seat and carry her around so that she can swivel her head around everywhich way and look at everything!
All these thoughts made be look back at immi’s birthing day, which seem so long ago now. I remember feeling (when I was still pregnant, I think that immi’s and my feelings were independent but closely interconnected) that when the doctor broke my water (to keep things moving at a good pace), and for the first time immi’s perfect comfort was a bit compromized, she seems to have realised that its not all very nice. After the doctor and nurses did everything they could for us and all we had to do was wait for the right time, we were finally left alone in the room, even todd went out to get something from the car for a brief while. I think that this quiet time was very important for Immi and I. I enjoyed the last moments of having her a physical part of me, and I think that Immi had time to gathered up her courage to become an indivisual. We were both ready when the doctor came back for us. immi’s daily horoscope on the day of her birth
Aquarius: “You enjoy the company of loved ones and make the most of the time you have together. Though loved ones are not like you in obvious ways, they have core values similar to yours, and there is a strong connection”
the due date
Immi’s due date was initially February 8th but when I switched my doctor (long story…I’ll just say that I’m really happy I switched!), he told me February 7th. And when we got ultrasound done, the technician told us that estimate due date was February 7th also. I thought that February 7th would make cuter birthday so I had marked this day in my calendar as the due date. Of course the first date is closer to the actual birthday (only 2 hours and one minute late!).
Twice in December, I had regular and quite strong contractions which made my doctor think that I might be having my baby a bit early. So I had a talk with her that if she wanted to be born, i was ready (more or less…) but that it would be much nicer for both of us if she waited until February. Besides, she would end up a Capricorn instead of Aquarius!
immi and butterflies
Around the time of conception, Todd and I started seeing butterflies every where we went and we wondered why. Over time we have come to associate butterfly symbol with Immi. She is our little butterfly of chaos that changed a whole lot of everything for us bringing lots of joy and love.
…and let me add today (July 9 2007) that we have not seen many butterfiles this year at all, just one in fact (a little white butterfly perched on our catnip plant)! where did all the butterflies go??
