We are at Heart Roastery to grab a bag of coffee beans.

We are celebrating immi’s little brother’s first birthday! Immi is having some chocolate milk, french toast and bacon (one of very few meat type food she actually eats!).
Immi and I are making for Ashland some pancakes because it’s his special day! This was immi’s idea, she pulled out the pancake mix and demanded we make it.
Immi has been totally obsessed with pouring beads into different containers with a spoon for various pretend purposes. Right now she is pretending to put coffee beans into the grinder to grind it. Making coffee is not immi’s favorite activity she enjoys with her dad. She thinks that it smells good, and she demands to make it every morning!
Immi is relaxing reading some magazines.
I’ve noticed that immi’s imaginative play is getting more convoluted lately. She doesn’t just want to do things (i.e. feed, bathe, put to sleep) to the stuffed animals but she wants *it* to do things to her other smaller toy animals. I see her often trying very hard (with infinite patience!) to get her Carebear to give her tiny cat a bath, or put her tiny monky to sleep…and as you can imagine — stuffed animals not having hands that can grab things — it’s quite a painstaking task!
I got the impression that immi needed undivided attention so we left napping Ashland with his daddy and Immi and I are out having coffee time. Immi is having chocolate milk and danish.
We took a walk to Beveland Street Coffee. Immi is needlessly wearing her rain jacket and boots.
It’s was so nice out that I proposed going to a cafe with outside seating this evening. Immi loves sitting outside (it’s also really great for me that she and Ashland loves to just sit and enjoy lovely weather without peep of complaint!).
Saturday coffee at Seven Virtues. Immi is having hot chocolate!
Immi spilled her soy milk accidentally…on the cat!
…And here’s photo from last week’s saturday coffee that I hadn’t had chance to post, been a bit busy around here…
Having saturday coffee. Immi is very happy about her hot chocolate.
We were out having our Saturday Coffee yesterday morning…and it was such a *blah* of a morning! When I mentioned this to Todd, he totally agreed. We talked about how some days are just so *blah* and it’s pointless trying to work hard on those days since nothing good will come of it anyways.
So then we got to talking about cure of *blah* …and we both thought “beach!!”. It’s only 1.5 hours away and we really didn’t do it justice last time having spent only a few hours (when we had intended on taking a mini vacation at the beach). We went home and I got packing and Todd finished up a few things and off we went. We made it to the beach long before sunset!
Immi of course is really really happy. (She even says “Happy!” these days!)
You’ll be so bored of immi-and-the-sunset-at-the-beach photos, but hey, there are far worse things you can get bored of
After the sunset, we drove 10 minutes from Cannon beach to Seaside beach where we had booked for a night at a Bed&Breakfast while driving down here. We found a candy shop and immi is excited trying to pick out few special ones.
When we woke up this morning, we walked down to the Seaside beach, and then had morning coffee at a coffee shop named “The Coffee Shop”. Immi seems to think that the jelly donut is heaven.
We decided that we like Cannon beach (we think that the beach is much prettier, there’s less people, and has cuter town) a lot better so we drove back to Cannon beach and hanging out for a bit before heading home.
Having Saturday coffee at Bakery Bar. Immi seems to be still sleepy!
Having coffee at Flying Cat Coffee. Immi, wanted to jump up and down on the couch because her little brother was jumping up and down on his daddy’s lap. So I had to tell her that she is too big for jumping on the couch, but that big immi gets to have a super yummy organic lollipop with vitamin C in it. She was happy with the arrangement
Saturday Coffee at Seven Virtues. Immi is having hot chocolate. She seems to like it a lot (I tasted it to make sure it wasn’t too hot, and it is a very good cup of hot chocolate!).
Saturday Coffee at Coffee Plant. …Just adventuring Portland one coffee shop at a time
Todd’s friend is in town for the holidays and we met up in Stumptown Coffee in downtown. The super nice barista offered immi a cup of whipped cream (lucky immi!) she even sprinkled cocoa powder on top!
After the coffee we went to the Button Emporium and Ribbonry. The shop looks like it would be the kind of place unfriendly to kids, but the ladies who work there adore them (they even had couch area with toys to keep them occupied…). They let immi scoop out a grab bag full of buttons (She always gets free things, life is so unfair like that isn’t it??). Anyway, she is in love with the colorful and interestingly shaped buttons and she is still playing with them a few hours later (I confiscated a few…ok maybe a bit more than a few…for my stash).
Random immi news is that immi has fallen in love with …receipts! She loves them so much that she even says “receipts” and wants to look at it, roll it up and put it in her purse. It seems that receipts are longer the better, according to immi (like the ones from grocery store). We think that this obsessin of immi’s is funny, except for when we get a receipt and then have to give it back (merchant copy!) and she gets really mad.
…As it turns out, we live basically right across from (but hidden behind trees and such, and we couldn’t see it until recently) a really nice cafe (a total dream come true!!) called Beveland St Bistro and Coffee House. It’s really nice here, yummy sandwich and soup, and coffee is good too. Immi really liked the french toast.

We are grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s. This location has little immi-size shopping carts!

We are at Amphora’s Bakery for coffee and pastry. Immi is have some chocolate chip cookie.

Immi and her dad having [pretend] tea.

Immi snoozing in her HelloKitty palace.

Immi and her little brother. Immi knows that this swing isn’t hers and doesn’t try to climb in, but she likes to turn the switch on and make it swing.

We are at Greenberry’s for Sunday Coffee. The very nice barista made for Immi a free hot chocolate for being cute.

Immi and her dad are swimming. Her little brother is sleeping and I’m sitting by the pool spectating.

We are having Saturday morning coffee time (ok, it’s more like past noon…) at Greenberry’s. Immi really wanted my coffee drink (not allowed for another many many years!) and it seemed so unfair that she shouldn’t get any treat so we got her the organic vanilla flavored milk. Immi shared it with her pink cat.
