one moment

Immi is pretend-shopping. She got her jacket and boots on and her purse and her doggie. (You might find it entertaining to know that she isn’t wearing pants or skirt under her jacket!). She is doing the ‘one moment’ finger gesture at me which I use with her a lot lately when I’m leaving the room but will be back shortly, or when she wants something but I need her to give me a moment to make it happen. She understands this quite well and waits patiently most of the time.

…but when she is cranky, ‘one moment’ makes her really upset and she’ll immitate my finger gesture (and adds drama to it by waving her finger around) while screaming as if to say “don’t one-moment me!!!”. I can’t wait till she really starts talking

Only thing Immi wanted to wear when I took off her soggy sticky clothes (she spilled my juice on herself when she tried to drink it stealthily) was her fuzzy white fleecy jacket (it’s from last year and it’s still much too wide, but have gotten too short!). She wanted me to help her zip up her doggie in her jacket with her. I think she got the idea to do this from when her dad wraps her up in his jacket when we go outside and it’s really really cold out. Immi liked having her doggie close to her so much that she kept him in her jacket for a long while and didn’t want me to take him out even for a celery snack.

I happened by a book that features immi’s favorite doggie about Valentine’s day. Immi was sooooo excited when she saw the book, I think that she recognized her familiar puppy dog!

“Eat up your food doggie, here’s your fork!”

“…Oh, you don’t want a fork? How about a spoon? A knife?? Or maybe a spaghetti server???” [immi fills up his bowl with various utensils]

“Oops. I almost for got, you are a doggie!” [immi transfers the animal crackers into the bigger bowl -- which is actually a strainer...] “I’ll help you shove your face into your bowl!”

…is what I think happened inside of immi’s mind that is the eternal mystery, but I could never be sure

We woke up this morning to a fridge full of nothing, so here we are at Starbucks. Happy immi playing with her pony.

I built the stroller immi’s grandmom got for immi (luckily this only took about a minute!) and immi loved it immediately! …but the only one she is willing to push around in the stroller is her red puppy. I also caught her giving this puppy a pretend bath, something I haven’t seen her do with her baby doll…

We are at ToysRus to get some diapers and to watch people do last minute holiday shopping. It’s really crowded here even though the store is closing early in less than an hour. Immi fell in LOVE when spotted this big plushie My Little Pony on the shelf. She dragged her off the shelf and zoomed around the store gleefully. Several customers asked us where in the store we found it (immi-dvertisement!). …And, no, we didn’t buy it.

When we got back home, there were three huge packages waiting for immi from her Great Aunt Marla,Great Uncle Charlie, and second cousin Alisa (It’s already been two summers since we last visited them!). In it, immi found some musical toys, Clifford the Dog, and wooden play center.

For some reason Immi really really loved this red doggie (even though he is a dog!) and spend the rest of the evening carry him around, giving him many squeezes and saying “wruuuuuf!”.
