Happy Mother’s Day

I just wanted wish Happy Mother’s Day to all of you who are a mom, a mom-to-be, or thinking-about-becoming-a-mom.

It’s a strange thing that having immi made me *entitled* to an extra holiday:D

Immi got me a “happy mother’s day” balloon a few days ago when she went grocery shopping with her dad. Todd insists she wanted it for me, but I have a suspicion that she just wanted a balloon.

Today, immi gave me lots of hugs, kisses, and giggles, and shared with me her animal crackers (except for the cat shaped one, she took that one back when I said that it was a ‘meow’). Of course she does these things all the time. …And makes me feel special every day regardless of the holiday.

At the very end of year 2008, immi was doing play-doh.

We are at immi’s grandmom’s and we just finished brunch. We are hanging out in the living room and Immi is opening gifts.

We are now in the kitchen having some cookies. Immi is playing with her new baby doll from her grandmom, sort of. At the moment she is busy washing her own face with plastic pretend soap for her baby doll.

Immi is modeling her new faux fur her jacket. She seems to like it a lot.

Immi also got a big pretend kitchen (and huge amount of accessories for it) and an entire nursery for her baby doll from her grandmom. We have to build them though before she can play with them. Tired from running around all afternoon (powered by sugar!), immi fell a sleep and her dad joined her too.

In the evening, we headed over to immi’s grandparents for dinner. For some reason, I didn’t take any photos here! You’ll just have to take my word that we had a very nice time. Immi spent the entire evening after dinner organizing and reorganizing her big box of new crayons (she got a big tub full of art supplies, stickers and activity books from her grandparents).

Most of the time immi is busy doing other things while DVDs are playing in the background (she waits for her favorite scenes to come up so that she can dance along), but she still seems a bit tired from her cold and now just lounging and watching Doraemon. (Immi’s favorite scene from Doraemon is the bit where the characters shrink themselves with a gadget called SmallLight, animates stuffed animals with Robotter and rides around on them to the waltzy music.)

Today, immi found stickers behind the pony advent calendar. She is decorating the cardboard pop-out tree from the back of the calendar box with them while playing with the pony from Day 1 and purple shoes and shoe box from Day 2 (immi has been insistent on putting the toys back where she finds them in the calendar everyday).

Immi is eating all-natural mini marshmallow. She discovered that she loves them a few weeks ago. Immi woke up this morning with a cough and minor fever — her pediatrician says that it’s just a cold. Usually, immi only gets few pieces of marshmallow a day as a topping for her breakfast cereal and fruits but she got another handful this evening since her little cough just sounds so sad.

I can’t believe its December already! Immi got a Ponyville advent calendar (it has Ponyville toys behind the 24 doors) and she is opening the first door to get the little pink pony out.

It’s immi’s second halloween today! Immi-Roo went to work with her dad for lunch time.

“Rooz Allen Hamilton. This is Immi-Roo Speaking!”

Rummaging her dad’s office desk drawers…

Immi and I went to the shopping mall to watch Trick-or-Treaters. (Various stores are giving out candy!). Here’s Immi-Roo strapped into her stroller.

Immi’s dad ate the candy. Immi-Roo is licking what’s left of it on the wrapper…

Immi and I are waiting for Trick-or-Treaters. I’m a faery…of garden variety.

Now we are at Immi’s grandmom’s. Immi-Roo is having dinner (apple sauce, avocado roll, milk).

Immi-Roo had a long and exciting day. She is very very tired and resting on the couch.
